The Ultimate Truth Preaching Mission considers livelihood development interventions is one of the most important activities for economic upliftment. The Mission therefore, introduced The Chakma Tribal Handicrafts Project with its cluster headquarters at Tuichawng, in 2011 and placed the same before the Development Commissioner, Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles, Gov’t of India, New Delhi through proper channel. The Developemnt Commissioner was pleased to approve the Project.
The Mission had already received the re-imbursement amount of Rs. 84,531/- for 15 days Design & Technical Development Workshop conducted in January 2012 and Rs. 90,500/- for Baseline survey for formation & mobilization of 88 SHGs conducted from January to March 2012 in the month of july 2013 and has utilized the amount properly for which it was sanctioned.
The Mission has conducted 2 (two) 15 days Design & Technical Development Workshops in February 2014 in Tribal Textiles and Dry Flower crafts and which was sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Ministry of Textiles, Gov’t of India, New Delhi.
In which 15 prototypes (2 sets of each) have been developed by 60 artisans (30 srtisans for each workshop) under the supervision of the appointed Designers. Mr. Darduna S.D.O. (civil) Tlabung, Lunglei District, Mizoram was invited as Chief Guest to inaugurate the workshop and Miss. Jagyaswory Devi Handicrafts Promotion Officer, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Marketing & Service Extension Centre, Zohanco Building, Chaltlang Aizawl attend as Guest of Honour to have inspection of the work carried out in the workshop.
